Whether you’re getting your home ready for selling or simply looking to freshen it up, these easy tips will help you spruce up your home on a budget.

GET PAINTING

One of the most cost-effective ways to spruce up your home on a budget is to freshen up the walls with a fresh lick of paint.

This is an easy DIY job that can change the whole feel of a room. Choose neutral colours such as browns, creams and greens to create a light and bright atmosphere.

CLEAR OUT THE CLUTTER

A simple way to spruce up your home is to remove the clutter and create an organised living space. Dispose of items you no longer need and clear away your belongings into storage boxes or baskets and choose a select few items to display on your surfaces.

CREATE A GALLERY WALL

Adding framed photos to a blank wall is a great way to add personality to a room and can be done at a low cost.

Choose a collection of different sized frames and fill them with family photos, record covers and prints. When you get tired of the pictures, you can easily replace them with new ones.

UPDATE YOUR ENTRYWAY

When it comes to selling, first impressions are made before the viewer has even set foot in your house.

Refresh the outside of your property by painting the door, adding some potted plants or hanging baskets and replacing a worn-out door mat with a fresh new one.

ADD A RUG

Carpets and flooring can get tired after a lot of wear, but it can be expensive to replace the whole room.

Instead, add a rug to cover the problem areas, or even layer different textures, patterns and colours to make a room look more interesting.

ACCESSORISE WITH FLOWERS

Add colour and life to your rooms with a fresh bouquet of flowers and potted indoor plants. This is an inexpensive method to give your rooms an instant face lift and a stylish look.
